     Process and technology:

The processing process of excavator crankshaft mainly includes the following steps:

1. Material selection: Generally, medium carbon steel, medium carbon alloy steel or ductile iron is used. Small diesel engines usually use cast blanks, while small and medium-sized automobile engines are gradually changed to forged blanks.

2. Forging: Using the grinding and forging method, red-hot metal bars or steel nails are placed into the forging die, and a crankshaft blank is formed through a series of forgings. This method can make the internal metal structure of the crankshaft good and improve the fatigue strength.

3. Processing: First process the main journal, then process the connecting rod neck. Since the connecting rod neck rotates around the center line of the main journal, during the machining process, the cutter head needs to swing up and down with the rotation of the connecting rod neck to achieve follow-up cutting.

4. Grinding: In order to improve the accuracy and surface roughness of the crankshaft, its surface usually needs to be ground. Generally, the tracking grinding method is used to control the feed of the grinding wheel and the rotation of the workpiece through the CNC machine tool to achieve two-axis linkage to complete surface processing.

5. Surface quenching: The crankshaft surface is brought to the quenching temperature by rapid heating and then immediately cooled to change the hardness of the crankshaft journal surface. Surface quenching methods include electric induction heating, laser heating, electrical contact heating, etc.
